“ Holy, constant interruptions and a sales-pressure dining experience. If you’re planning on going to dinner here and actually want to talk with the person you’re dining with, this isn’t the place. The staff constantly hovers over your table, not just to check on you but to push more sales. We stopped in for a beer and to share some sushi. After we ordered, the server told me they’d “come back so we can put in an order for some real food.” That sums up the experience: persistent upselling and interruptions. They have a lot of staff clearing dishes, topping water, and circling back to see what else they can sell you. It felt intrusive rather than attentive. Maybe the service style stood out even more because I just returned from Europe, where service is the opposite—you can sit and chat with the person you are dining with, and not be interrupted. It's the opposite, you have to wave them down if you want something. Both approaches have pros and cons, but Dave’s service style is definitely too much on the pushy side. ”
“ How is this rated at a 4.5? I'm in Montana and this is the freshest sashimi I've ever had. The sushi he made for me was one of the best I've had. So many components that worked wonderfully. Like this was a great meal. I'm not sure it gets any better than this. Thank you guys. ”
“ June 2025 update. Returned with the family. There were limited options on the menu for celiac and picky kids. They still brainstormed with us and provided friend chicken with some gluten free dipping sauces. Kids loved the eel sauce and the kids said it was the best friend chicken they have ever had! The sushi here remains outstanding. Some of the best in the US. ............... Celiac friendly! Gluten free options. Menu clearly identifies which food items contain gluten. If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would! Some of the best sushi I have ever had in the US! Service was excellent with an amazing atmosphere to match! A must when in Bozeman! ”
“ Wow! We did not expect to find such good sushi in this part of the country but Dave's knocked our socks off. The miso soup, which is such a small thing is the best we've ever had. The fish was delicious especially the twist they have on the different recipes adding a little unique flare. ”
“ I purchased two item, the salmon roll and the ahi poke bowl. Both items 10 out of 10 would recommend. Ahi poke bowl, it's advertised as a appetizer and that's about what you can expect from the portion, though it is delicious, the portion size is not large. I added a salmon roll which was also delicious, together they were a mid filling lunch sized portion for 40$ The price is about what you would expect from a mid-level sushi joint. ”
